Mick Schumacher is a German racing driver, currently a reserve driver for the Mercedes Formula One team. He is the son of seven-time Formula One World Champion, Michael%20Schumacher.
Early Career: Schumacher began karting in 2008, using the pseudonym "Mick Betsch" (his mother's maiden name) to avoid unwanted attention due to his famous father. He progressed through various junior racing series, including German Formula 4 and Italian Formula 4, winning the German Formula 4 championship in 2015.
Formula 3: He competed in the Formula%203 European Championship in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, he secured the championship title with eight wins.
Formula 2: Schumacher raced in the Formula%202 Championship in 2019 and 2020. He won the Formula 2 title in 2020, earning him a promotion to Formula 1.
Formula One: He made his Formula One debut with the Haas F1 Team in 2021, partnering with Nikita Mazepin. He continued with Haas in 2022 alongside Kevin Magnussen. While showing flashes of potential, his time at Haas was marked by some costly crashes and a lack of consistent points finishes. At the end of 2022, Haas replaced him with Nico Hülkenberg.
Mercedes (Reserve Driver): In 2023, Schumacher joined the Mercedes Formula One team as a reserve driver. This role involves simulator work, attending races, and being ready to step in should either Lewis Hamilton or George Russell be unable to race. He also assists with car development and provides feedback to the team.
